Injury Update And A Goodbye?

I want to thank everyone for the sweet, goodwill wishes on my recovery. I am doing better. I am still in pain, but it is manageable now. I can actually put full pressure on my foot, where before I couldn't even put all my weight on it. I still have pain when I move my ankle certain directions, and the swelling has gone down, but still hasn't gone away completely. I am still icing it, and taking my pain and anti-inflammatory meds. I even gimped out to see my horses yesterday. I miss them, and by the way Chance was giving me attention, I think she missed me too! It'll be so hard to be away from my animals and my OH for so long!

I leave for Scottsdale in a few days. I have so much to do before I leave. I have started packing and I don't think I am going to fit everything in my luggage, as my OH says, "It's not a fashion show!". I don't think I have ever been gone from home for this long before, so I am trying to think of things I wouldn't normally take on a trip. I know I will need to take many different kinds of clothes. Even though it will be warmer where I am going then it is here, I want to make sure I am prepared for all kinds of weather. You just never know what the weather will bring!

While I am gone, I will be sending my sister updates on what is going on in Scottsdale. So, guess who will be posting these updates on my blog for me? Yep, the one and only, Pony Girl!

Isn't she sweet? They will not be big updates, but at least it will be something. Hopefully it will be of interest to you all! I will definitely miss visiting each and everyone of you, and hopefully when I get back, I will have a lot to tell!

I will miss you all, and have a great February! I'll see ya all at the end of the month!

This is going to be the biggest adventure EVER for you! I hope you have so much fun, even though you will be working hard. Could you have possibly imagined you would be doing this, this time last year. As for gimping out to see the horses, you should have made your man carry you out!

Listen, Pony Cousin, you be a sponge and soak it all in so that you can share with your Cousins all that you see and do. I have been to some large horse shows (300 ponies is large to me. As teenagers, Cousin Cherie and i showed our ponies in one.), but i have never been to anything so grand as what you are going to experience. You're gonna love it! Enjoy every day, every moment.

Whew! I was worried the goodbye was something more serious. I'm glad you're ankle seems to be healing already and your feeling much better with less pain. Still, do take it easy and don't cause more injury by over doing things.

Oh! And I am hoping to get your updates IN PERSON my friend. I'm in the process of tying up all the loose ends for my own trip out the Scottsdale to see all the gorgeous Arabians....and YOU! :-D

I got your e-mail with all the contact info and I'll be sure to let you know when I'm at Westworld.
I'm so excited for you!
You're embarking on such a wonderful new adventure. Have fun!

Have fun and be safe.....will miss your posts and your sis is so nice to do that for you!! Love the photo of her with her Boy! I wish I could get out of dodge and see the show and you in action! In my book, the grooms are the most important person to the horse at these shows, not because you make them beautiful but you also help them relax. Remember that in your head! Sweet blessings and travels!
P.S. I know you're a positive person....just wanted you to know you have support when needed. Luanne

Scottsdale is so exciting! Its such a huge deal in the Arab world, very cool that you get to go. At Cal Poly Pomona (where I graduated from) they have a large Arabian Horse Center, I used to live there and was on feed crew. They go to Scottsdale every year. One year one of our studs was a unanimous Park Champion. It was crazy! So, say hi to any Cal Poly horses! And good luck, hopefully your stable will kick butt!

Have fun in Scottsdale! I have to say your OH is wrong! A big horse show IS a BIG fashion show! LOL for horses and humans!

You will be sorely missed but at least we'll have some updates from your sister. I hope your healing continues and that Scottsdale is one of those unbelievably wonderful, memorable, experiences that leads to lots more good stuff. I'm so eloquent... Take care!

It will be fun to post updates for you. Don't forget about us back here at home in the rain! :) Wish I could see what you packed.
You will have fun, soak it all up!
p.s. tell your horses not to get into trouble while you are gone, or the OH and I will have our hands full!

Should be a blast--and you'll probably have great weather. I LOVE Scottsdale--and combined with horses--PERFECT! Looking forward to the updates! Have fun!

I haven't been on the blogs much lately, and just caught up with the story of your ankle injury. I have had 2 of those injuries in the last 2 years. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it will probably be more like 4-6 weeks of healing. You need crutches or one of those compression boots so you can walk without making it worse. Having said that, have a good time in Scottsdale, and keep us up to date!!!! I'll be thinking of you..I know EXACTLY how you feel!!

So sorry you are haing so much of a problem and I hate it that you are going to Scottsdale injured! Reminds me of something that happened to me this past summer.....but you will be fine, just will be a little painful because you will be on your feet so much. Darn the luck. Try to have a great time and it will be so exciting for you!

You are going to have so much fun! Traveling is the BEST! Plus, you will learn so much that all of that stubborn ankle pain may just wilt away in the rush! Many thanks to Pony Girl for helping me get my Paint Girl fix!
