A Few New Updates........

Just thought I'd fill you all in with a few updates and other things before I hit the road to Oklahoma!

I was down for 2 days with a Migraine (one of the reasons I have been MIA in visiting blogs, so sorry!). Oh, how I hate Migraine's! I have been getting them since I was a teenager. Then they improved to where I hardly got any, then a few years ago after I was dumped by Fritzy and got my neck injury, they increased pretty bad. My Doctor says that the bulging disc in my neck could be causing the Migraine's to increase to the level they are at now.. I have no idea what causes them. I have tried to pinpoint it down to many things, but there isn't one thing that sticks out. I usually wake up with one, and since I can't catch it at the beginning, I am pretty much down and out. If I am awake and get one, I can take something in the first few minutes of freaky vision and it will keep the worst of the Migraine at bay. But I am never that lucky. Anyways, I missed two days of work. I went back today and it was total chaos. They definitely missed me! We are shorthanded and I hate leaving work shorthanded, but there is no way I could work in the condition I was in. It sure feels good to be appreciated at my job though! The last job I had, or actually I should say the last boss I had, had no sympathy or compassion for anyone and he didn't value me or the hard work I did. He had his "favorites", which usually consisted of young, pretty girls that just came to work for a paycheck and didn't want to do any work. Okay, I am totally going off subject here. That topic is for another blog post!

I went out and dewormed all my horses tonight. Everyone did well, even Fritzy who use to throw temper tantrums when being dewormed. She is actually becoming a model "deworming" citizen now. Chance, no problem! I just put the lead rope between my legs, held onto the halter, and stuck the tube in her mouth. Viola! Deworming accomplished. Kinda funny that deworming a Mustang is easier then deworming a Paint, huh?

I have a busy weekend ahead. I work, then I need to go shopping to pick up a few more things for my trip to Oklahoma, go to a hockey game, and pack. I haven't even started packing yet! I did finally make a packing list. I live by lists. I always feel like I will forget something if I don't have a list. I even write down "underwear". Like I would forget underwear! But you never know, right?

Just in case I don't get a chance to post again, which I am planning on, but you never know what life will throw at ya, I have to thank a blogger friend of mine. A blogger friend that I will be meeting in Oklahoma. Blogger K.T. Sparks from The Wildwood blog has been absolutely wonderful in the last couple days. She has sent me lots of great info about Tulsa, like good places to eat, and a map of the show grounds, which will come in handy! I have never been there before, and I am the type that likes to familiarize myself with my surroundings, especially before I get there! Plus, since we live in a hotel room, we eat out every day and night. And it sounds like there are places I have never eaten before, and I can't wait to try them! Maybe I should have become a food critic?

Also in case I don't get a chance to post again, there just might be a special "guest" blogger on my blog while I am away!! I am hoping this blogger will take some picture's of my animals and post them here, so I can check my blog on my phone and see all my loved ones from afar. I am going to miss each and everyone of my pets so much!! (As I wipe a tear away from my eye..........) And I know of one pet that will miss me more than anything and anyone....my special boo boo. (No, not my OH, although I am sure he will miss me, but he is not my boo boo.) I feel so bad for this guy, he is going to go through a really tough time while I am gone. He will pout, become depressed and have a really hard time. Don't worry boo, I will be back!

Now this stinker, my little monkey, will also have a hard time without me. But he won't take it as hard as my boo. But he will miss me!!

Can you tell I am going to miss my critters? Oh, this is going to be so hard being away from them all!!!

Paint Girl - Have fun in Oklahoma! Sounds like you are organized with your lists and ready to hit the road. So glad your migraine is gone. I used to get them, but now they seem to be done - one nice thing about aging!! Can you imagine if you had one at a show far from home? That would be horrid!
Chance sounds like she is a good girl with the wormer. Pie hates it on the near side, but he is good if I stick it in his mouth on the off side - he is so funny like that. Sovey doesn't care at all - he is pretty good about that!
I can't wait to read your posts from your guest blogger!

Have a great and safe trip! I spent most of my high school years in Tulsa, but that was a very long time ago so I have no advice to offer!

Sorry to hear about the migraine - that must be really tough to deal with.

I hope you have a safe trip down to (over to?) Tulsa! I hope you don't get too worn out while you are at that big show!

I am a list lover too! How could anyone possibly remember to do everything without a list??? :-)

I hope to see some pics from your mystery "guest blogger"!!

I know how you feel about migraines! I have had them all my life but they are caused by my allergies to onions and as I recently found out, aspartame. I got this medicine for migraines called relpax and it's great stuff I tell ya. Mostly I am fine so long as I avoid onions and aspartame and bad mold/dust.

Have a safe drive with the horses! I'll be in Tulsa for the final weekend of the show! Probably wont run into each other but I usually just hang out at the warm up rings and watch people work! Do you have anyone hoping to show in the big classes the final friday night? I know you will be working HARD all week, but try to enjoy the time as well! If you want to send me a personal message with your barn name, I can drop off a few snacks for you since I know finding time to eat mostly consists of greasy fast foods!

A two-day's-down migraine! That's a bad one!

Leaving the critters behind is the hardest part of taking a trip. I hate going anywhere I can't take Java with me.

I hope you have a good trip. And no more migraines!

I get migraines too... life pretty much comes to a hault when I get one. I am unable to pinpoint a trigger too, so I just have to suffer through it. Not fun...

Have a safe trip!

I've never been to Tulsa either but have fun.... hopefully you won't miss your critters too much. You'll probably be so busy that you won't have time to miss home? About the migraines...I have a bulging disk as well and get regular adjustments now, it does help but I started tracking when I get them, low and behold it's always around a "new moon" on the calendar. Yes, it sounds crazy but I could not figure it out. Most times I don't even pay attention to it but then I'll look on the calendar when I feel one coming on and sure enough it's around that time every month. I have not had a severe one in a while so that's why I think the adjustments are helping. Oh and the previous boss not having a clue as to how bad a migraine can be....if most people haven't had one, they don't understand. On the "favorites" he had....just plain not right what a pretty face can do without pulling their own weight! So unfair! Safe travels!

Oh girl! I am SO sorry to hear you've been fighting stupid migraines!! UGHH! They suck! I really hope that disc in your neck behaves!!! Have you ever told your Dr that you wake up with them?! (I'm sure you have) but it isn't normal to wake up with headaches...But it would make sense if it was the disc...

Your babies will miss you so much! I still cannot believe you will be gone from home for SO long!!!

You reminded me I need to deworm MB. Although he is NOT a model equizen for that!!

I love lists too. I make them for everything, even small things. I also like getting cute , tiny little notebooks to make my lists in. There is nothing bgetter than starting errands, packing a suitcase or going to the grocery store with a list! I hope you have fun in OK and are not made to work too hard! Hah! I also hope your migraines vanish off the face of this planet! I feel for people who get migraines because they seem so wretched. The migraines, I mean, not the people!! One of my coworkers gets migraines so bad, he has medicine for it that must be injected with a needle. Ouch!

I wonder if it is a family thing...I write lists for everything as well! I even write lists for my husband! I hope you have a wonderful time in OK. It sounds like your animals will be in good hands while you are away. XOXO

Oh yeah, I am a list maker too because my memory is horrible. Hope you have a safe trip and have some fun somewhere sprinkled in with all that work!

I am glad I was able to help you a little bit on your adventure in Tulsa! It is going to be fun to meet each other and I wish I could meet your whole family! You are a fun group of cowgirls!
Be safe and don't get a migraine while you are in Oklahoma!!!!!!
I get them too so I can relate to that also....horrible things!

Sorry about your migraines. I hope your trip is great and you're fully healthy!

My little mustang takes wormer and fly spray better than my others, too. Go figure! My paint, Cowboy, takes it the worst!! I worm them all the same, but get drastically different results.

Hope your trip is going well. So glad I stopped by this morning. Your post made me smile.

Well, not the migraine part.

Nationals, I'm so jealous. Can't believe I'm not going this year but I guess next year will be soon enough for me.

I'm trying to think of the name of the restuarant that is just off the corner of the grounds that had great soup and sandwiches. The weather was so cold when I was there, the soup really hit the spot and it was awesome. Geez! I hate being so bad remembering names. But I can tell you, you go out to the light leaving the grounds, turn left. Go to the next light and the restuarant is on the left side of the street after you cross the intersection. Food was great and prices reasonable.

Have fun! There's nothing quite like nationals.

Hope you had a great time! Looking forward to how you liked Oklahoma as a PNWer. We're considering heading that direction in a couple of years.
