Oklahoma Update

Hello Friends!

It's Paint Girl's sis, Pony Girl! Goodness I have missed you all! I have been a busy girl, that is for sure! My Boy is getting fat and fuzzy. He definitely falls in the "over-fed and under-worked" category these days. Just for fun, here is a picture I found from PG's old photo files, back in August of 2007. I was only leasing My Boy at the time, he was still at his previous owner's barn. Jen rode his owner's Paint gelding (that is not Fritzy) and I rode My Boy, from her residence, down the road, through the trails, all the way to Paint Girl's house! We had Paint Girl's OH take a picture. I am sure missing trail riding. Paint Girl and I did a bit this summer, not as much as we would have liked.

Paint Girl wanted me to let ya'll know that she made it safe and sound to Oklahoma! She was a little worried about weather and tornado twisters. Turns out the sky was blue the whole drive! The only thing that stunted their trip a bit was one of the other drivers they were following got them lost, and a mishap with a toll booth (who knew Kansas highways had toll booths?) I'll let her tell the good stories when she gets back!

Once in Oklahoma, they were able to settle down a bit. So they thought. Turns out their hotel was party central. And a bit on the seedy side. Luckily, they've moved around a bit but are happier in their new digs.

Then, PG has to get herself stepped on by one of their horses! Her foot is swollen and she's a bit gimpy but had some crazy horse laser treatment done on it yesterday. I heard her neigh a few times during our phone conversation last night.....but other than that I think she'll survive.

She said it's been hot, humid, and a bit thunder-stormy there, but most of their work is indoors at this facility, which is nice. The show starts this Friday.

I will keep you posted with updates as I get them. Have fun and stay safe, Paint Girl!

Hi Pony Girl! So wonderful to hear from you. We all miss you so much!

Good luck to Paint Girl and her foot. She is a real horsewoman working right in the trenches. Travel in those big rigs always is an adventure, it seems! Hope her show goes well.

Glad to hear the update. Also glad to hear from YOU! I've missed your blog. My mare is also fat and sassy these days. I haven't been able to ride much myself this year. Keep us updated and let's hear from you once in a while too! Oh, and be sure to "worm" your sister since she is obviously turning into an equine.

thanks for the update! those tolls are ridiculous, Oklahoma is full of them too, and the roads are crap so not quite sure what the toll is paying for if it isn't going to road improvement???

Great to hear from you PG! Give that fat appy a scratch from me!

Funny how that gelding looks like Fritzy.

Yeah, those toll roads are ridiculous. Pay over and over to get your rig beat up by the roads.

Owie on the foot. And with all that walking to do! I hear that lazer is miraculous so hopefully she'll be feeling better on it.

Not having a decent place to crash can be a huge problem at a long show; you just get more and more worn down and then you get SICK! Ack!

Hope things just get smoother and easier for her.

I am anxious to hopefully see her on Tuesday when I work there with my friend Carolyn in her art booth.

I asked where they were staying for that reason, but she was gone I am sure before that email...
Glad they got moved to a better place.
Tornadoes are real but we don't tend to be as afraid of them as outermost areas are, we have good news and warning systems here.

Pony Girl! I wondered how you have been! Great to hear you are alive and kickin! Also so great to hear that Paint Girl had blue skies the whole drive. Like that song: You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day! Don't you love it when Mother Nature plays nice? Can't wait to hear more about Paint girls's adventures and misadventures. Bummer about her foot!

Pony Girl, nice to hear from you! We miss you in the blogosphere. Thanks so much for the update. I am dying to be in Tulsa.

I don't know about toll booths in Kansas but there's one right there in Tulsa for the turnpike. I couldn't believe it and the drivers can get a bit nuts on that turnpike. I have my own stories about that. yuck!

Glad to hear she arrived OK and found a good place to get some sleep. That show is just sooooo much to deal with without getting a good night's sleep.

Have seen PG's boss in the ring a few times on the live feed. Also some of the clients. Looks like their show is going well. Can't wait for her stories when she gets back.
