When I woke up the other day, I could not believe how much rain we had gotten over night. Our creek in the back yard was flowing like a river. It was absolutely crazy! In the 11 years that I have lived on this property, I have not seen the creek flow so fast and hard. There were rapids and whitecaps!
I could have blown up my raft and done a little white water rafting!
I am sure the rushing water cleared out the pond of any living creature's.
Sadie loves water, but she was not going to attempt this fast paced river rushing by her.
We now have a Painted Creek waterfall!
Considering the amount of water that was coursing through the creek bed, the pond looked awfully quiet. But beneath those dark, murky waters was something I would not want to be a part of. It was flowing out the other end of the pond, continuing on it's path of destruction through the neighborhood.
Heading home from the gas station, I just had to take a picture of our river, only our river is not supposed to look like this.

We just had flood #2, and just when you think it is all said and done, the rain has to come back and come back big it did! It rained so hard for hours and hours and hours. I can't even begin to tell you how wet it is here right now.
Do you hear me Arizona? I am begging for dry, warm weather when I am there! Please be good to me!! I think I deserve a break for once! Please! I love you Arizona! Really I do!

Arizona here. It's 75 degrees and sunny. Get in the truck and get down here!
Oh my goodness--I'm so SORRY!! I couldn't handle that. I'd be heading to Arizona for sure!!
That's a LOT of water!
Hope you dry up soon or just send some my way- New Mexico.
Wow, I have never seen that much water! But, the next 10 days or so are supposed to be 75 and sunny.. when are you headed this way?
Our river has done the same thing, it's crazy. Everything is beyond saturated, the rain needs to stop sometime soon!
Fantastyk Voyager~ I'd love to send you some rain, but you really don't want as much as we get here, believe me!
Carroll Farm~ I'll be in Arizona the 2nd week of February! I sure hope it stays warm and sunny!
Scary!
awful paint girl! i am so worried about all of the weird weather that our world is experiencing...look at australia! 'sigh'
That's amazing. We've just been getting howling winds here.
I just had to comment as here in the north island of New Zealand we are getting the wild weather that has just destroyed much of Australia. We had over 100 mls of rain last night and its still pouring.....with wild winds. Very scary. All the rivers are flooding, camp grounds washed out, trees down, and horses in the shed just to get them out of the mud.
Arizona sounds gorgeous!!!! ..stay dry!
Wow! That is a LOT of water!! I hope it stops soon and dries out!! What a nightmare....
Well I know you can't send it to us, but we need the rain! Whew that water looks awful cold too! Had to be a weird winter for you all up there in the NWest! Take care and don't wash away!
Crazy rain! Wow! I hope you get a dry spell for a while so it has time to soak in/run off. I wonder why some places are getting flooded and others aren't getting any at all . . . it's really strange. Stay dry!
Wow! (My eyes are bugging)
Holy Smokes!! I'll take a winter of snow, not rain, any year!!
How are the horses doing in all that wet and mud?
cdncowgirl~ The horses do ok in the wet and mud, but it is very hard for them to get around. The pasture's are a mess. There is just so much sitting water right now, a lake usually forms in Brandy and Fritzy's pasture, but it is more like an ocean now. My arena is even half under water. It's bad, really bad....
Oh my goodness! You guys ar getting pounded by rain! Is your home in any danger if the creek continues to rise or something blocks the flow off your property? Yikes!
Can you please send some of your rain to us here in New Mexico? We've had no rain since August and only two snows so far this winter. It is so dry!
I'm starting to worry about summer fire season. :o

That is crazy, though I must say that it's so green there! I can't imagine green ever occuring here in Michigan again, it's just so WHITE - AGGHHH!!
I hope that rain stops soon and that your property dries up. That is a river, for sure! Try and stay dry :).
Wow that is crazy!! I cant even imagine all that water at once.
Ya, that's what it's like here too. I don't know if our creek has been within its banks in a month.
I'm envious you're going to Scottsdale. How I would love to be there. Hope the weather is warm and wonderful your entire trip. It'll probably take that long for you to dry out, don't you think? LOL
Lisa~ Our house is about 20 yards from the creek. Thankfully we have never had it reach the house, although this is the worst it has ever been! And it is still raining! I'd love to send some of the wet stuff your way!
Bleck, that's crazy! At least this is not a natural ground-fed creek, or perhaps it would flood! Luckily it dries up every summer....and it looked better during the reprive from the rain this weekend!! Hopefully you can play a bit with your Mustang before you leave for your work trip!
