Howdy From Pony Girl

Hello Paint Girl readers! PG is out traveling for a horse show and said that I could guest post on her blog this weekend.

Me in the feed truck with Lizzy.

I am considering, thinking, wondering........contemplating.......

of starting up my horsey blog again.

Although, I might actually change my blog name. I feel like my Pony Girl journey is over. I'm still working on a name, waiting for an epiphany, something that feels right.

A lot has happened in the past year since I took a break from my Pony Girl Rides Again blog. I have a lot to catch you up on!

In a nutshell, here are some of the highlights~

My Boy has moved off the Painted Creek farm. As some of you might have garnered from Paint Girl's posts we've had an awful time of rainy winter weather. My Boy's hooves are in the worst shape they've ever been in, I battled eroded, tender soles and abscesses all winter. He has moved to a much drier climate and the vet said within 6 months, I should see a big difference in his hooves.

I am leaving my job of 12 years and moving to the same town My Boy has moved to! Yes, my horse moved first.

I now have my very own Farmboy! Yep, this is the reason I am moving.

I have many exciting goals in mind for the coming year. First of which is to find a new job. Then, to pursue some hobbies and dreams, which may include opening an online (Etsy) store where I will sell my homemade goods. I am still working on finding my "niche."

So there you have it.....my PG blog had to take a break. Some painful and wonderful things happened on that journey.

I have already been hitting the trails with My Boy and at his new location on the ranch I have many horses to chose from to ride so my skills as a rider are only going to get better.

I will hope to have the new blog up and running some time this summer, perhaps earlier if I can get organized. I have some kinks to work out~ such as getting high-speed internet in a more remote location. And moving and settling in and job-hunting. These will be my priorities. But I am excited to start writing again and I have been by visiting many of you the past few weeks. I hope you'll stick around and follow my trail in the coming months!

Oh, Pony Girl! What exciting news!!! I am glad Your Boy's feet are on the mend. There is nothing worse than wet pastures - I know - ours were bad this past spring.

Happy, happy news on all fronts! Etsy is an exciting world. I brainstorm each day how to make my shop more successful, but then I get sucked into horse activities and my art goes flying out the door!!!

Can't wait to hear about the ranch and Lizzy and Farmboy. I have kept up to date as best as I could reading about your vintage shop.

Thanks for letting us in on all your fun happenings! Good Luck with your new beginnings!

Hi! So good to hear an update from you! I've missed your fun posts.

Too bad you had to move your boy, but good news that he is in a drier place and you are getting out to ride.

Great (great!) news about the Farmboy - I hope you are happy... It must be hard and kind of exciting at the same time to move and find a new job - a new chapter of your life is opening up before you.

I really hope you start a new blog - it would be greatto hear from you on a regular basis!

Hi to all~ thanks for stopping by to say hello!! I wanted to add that My Boy misses the (his) mares at the Painted Creek. I really do think he believes he's just "on vacation" and will be going back to TPC. And of course the fact he's not at TPC means I am never there which means I rarely see Paint Girl anymore... ;-( Oh and he misses the "tree" he always stood under, too! No trees in his new pasture although in some ways it's good because he MOVES around more now which he really needs!

Wow!! This is so exciting! I took a hiatus of my own about a year ago and when I came back in April, you were gone! I couldn't even get onto your site to see what had happened to you, as it was private. I'm so glad to hear that your time off was productive and that you have seen some positive changes in your life. I do hope you come back to blogging and I can't wait to follow your adventures. BTW, I was looking at your site (which I can now access again) and your photos are wonderful. I recently started taking a photography class myself, and I can't believe that you called yourself a novice and still took photos like that! I can't wait to see what you can do now..
