Up And Running......

I have not had a computer for the last week due to having to move everything out of the rest of the house. The carpet install was last Friday and Saturday. It is done!! And it looks awesome! I don't have any pictures right now, but will try to get some this week and get them posted. They also got my countertops installed on Friday. Wow! I can't believe the difference a new counter makes! Plus we have a new sink and it is so cool.

We have been trying to move some stuff back into the house, but so far we only have our bed, the guest bed and some living room furniture moved in. This morning we moved the new computer desk that I bought a couple years ago into the office. We had never put it in and that was one of the things I really wanted to do. It looks great and I can't wait to get all my decor pieces to complete the room. We bought a leather futon for the office that can be used for additional seating and for guests that stay the night. It won't be here until next week.

There is still so many things to do. We will have to start going through all the boxes in the garage and decide what comes back into the house, and what goes. That could take awhile.

Next week I leave for the Arabian and Half Arabian U.S. Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yes, it is that time of year again. So not only do I not get to settle into my newly remodeled house and get organized, I get to pack and leave for a month. So much for enjoying the new house! But at least I will have something to look forward to when I get home. I really just want to stay home but it is not an option. My poor OH has been working 12 hour days on top of trying to get the house ready for all the contractors and now trying to get it put back together, and a lot of that will happen without me.

I haven't done much with the horses, haven't had time due to everything else going on. Although I have lunged Chance and I put a surcingle on her for the first time. She did not care about it at all, even tightening the cinch. After I put it on her, I walked and trotted her on the lunge line. No buck at all. I can't wait to continue this part of her training when I get back from Oklahoma. She is getting big and she is just the coolest horse ever!

I think that's all the updates for now. Still extremely busy and I just wish my life would settle down a little, I really need that!

Can't wait to see the improvements. I think I'd rather stay home and get the house finished too.

I was on a bender here too. I can't believe how much stuff I cleaned out and got rid of and we have only been in this house for a year. The contractors have been working on the outside and I really hope we get it all done before the weather changes. If not though...we can do the stucco and paint next year.

Try to enjoy Nationals. I know those shows are hard work and long hours for you.

So not fair!! Such a whirlwind of a life for you right now...and it seems that it's been such a long time since life has been slow and peaceful for you.
Such a shame you're not able to find much time to spend with the horses, too. It's ironic that you spend time with horses all day every day through your job. You're like the plumber who fixes everyone else's plumbing problems but you have leaky pipes at home. lol!
But such a milestone for Chance! Such a smart, willing, trusting girl! I bet saddling will be easy peasy, too!

Have a safe trip and I hope you'll be able to come home and get some rest and enjoy your new and improved beautiful home!

Glad to hear that the renos are progressing, but too bad that you won't be home to settle in and finish up the little details!

We are starting some minor renos this week and I can't believe the mess already. Getting it all done will be worth it though.

I hope you have a safe trip to Tulsa!

At least you know when you come back, your house will be all ready for you to sink into comfortably! I can't wait to see pictures of the leather futon. That sounds awesome. And Chance! But Chance on the leather futon would really make my eyes pop out!

Good luck at Nationals! I'm sure it's a lot of work, but I think spending a whole month at a horse show sounds like a blast! :)
