I May Be Retired, But..........

I have been busier now then when I had a full time job! I have so many things I have wanted to do, but was too exhausted to do any of it when I was working. So now that I am retired, I have been chipping away at that to-do list! I started this week by cleaning out my master closet. We have a large walk-in closet with built in shelving unit on one side and a shelf/hanging unit on the other side. I got rid of clothes that I don't wear anymore, either they were old, worn out and had to be thrown away, or I put them in my "donation" pile. Our closet is one room we have not painted yet, so now that it is so much better organized, it will make it easier to move clothes out to paint.

Our new custom ordered furniture was delivered on Tuesday! I love it. I had to take a picture with my cell phone because my camera batteries were on the charger. But you will get an idea what it looks like, even though it's a little dark in the living room.

While I am at it, here's my new dining room. Everything in this room is new, except for the hutch on the left. That is an antique my mom gave me a few years ago. New table, new server, new light fixture and new accessories. I just love the dark wood. It is so rich and makes the house look so much better!

Last weekend my sister was at some event and she found something that I just might fall in love with. She said it was so "me". I told her to buy it. She did and she sent it out and it arrived this morning. And she was absolutely right. I love it and it IS so ME!!

Yesterday I went out to the farm I used to work for and visited with everyone. I ended up being there for a few hours! I watched the girl who breaks the babies long line a few of the 3 yr olds, and they have come so far! They look really good. I got to feed carrots to a couple of my absolutely favorite horses, like the Queen and Princess!! (Those 2 literally act like a queen and princess, that is how they got those nicknames!) And I got to meet the most adorable one week old Paint colt by Zippos Sensation!! Isn't he a doll? You are probably wondering why there would possibly be a Paint on an all Arab(and half Arab) farm? Well, a woman had 2 Paint mares ready to foal and she needed a place to foal them out at. So that is why there is a Paint on an Arab farm!

The weather is finally looking "brighter" this weekend, I think I will get to see the sun for the first time since Scottsdale! We have a friend bringing over his daughter to get a "pony" ride on one of my horses on Saturday (a late Birthday present to her). So tomorrow I am going to get Brandy out and lunge her so she can get all the friskiness out before Saturday. I scheduled a vet appointment for all 3 of my horses next Friday for vaccinations and teeth floating. Chance will get her wolf teeth pulled. It will be a long, busy day.

Well, I better get back to being busy!!

Nice new furniture! I'd love leather living room furniture but I worry the pets claws will wreck it.

And your purse, cute! I just got a new one, kinda reddish brown leather, with those crossed pistols on the front too!

I have a been a bit out of it with the blogs lately (both reading and writing), b ut I took some time this evening to catch up on yours. Read back a few posts, and really enjoyed them. I am happy (jealous) for your retirement!! Congratulations! Also, just LOVE your kitties -- they are SO precious! Also, I absolutely LOVE LOVE your remodeling job on your house! The flooring in your dining room is perfect. i do feel real bad for you about all the pain you have been thru with your neck and back. I hope you get resolution of those problems soon.

The house turned out fantastic. Love all your choices.

Glad to hear you are going to be able to take it a little easier. I'm sure the farm was sorry to lose you. It's darned hard to find people who work as hard as you do. Hopefully you get all healed up and get that back/neck pain under control or better yet...cured.

Glad to see you back!

Aww what a cute baby :)

I love the furniture, I have been hesitant to get leather before but now so many people I know love it I may be tempted to try it. Sure will be nice to get some work with your own ponies done this summer.

Love the furniture! The dining room set looks really good with the new tile floor! Our dining room is similar - we have dark leather chairs and I love them.

That paint foal is adorable! I want one... :-)

Wow!! Your new furniture is GORGEOUS! I LOVE it! Your place looks so great.

I bet you really enjoyed your visit to the barn. It's so different to go hang out and not have to work. I did the same thing at a barn where I used to work and it was so nice to sit and talk with my friends instead of working while they laugh and have fun without me LOL! :D
