I have been waiting for this moment for years and years!! It just was something that we were never able to afford. But it was something we had to have. I have been hauling my horse trailer with our 2000 GMC half ton truck. It did fine hauling short distances, like to our local trails. But when I had to haul long distance or over the mountain pass, it made me nervous. It just wasn't enough truck to do the long hauls. So I always had to borrow a friends one ton truck when I was taking my horses long distance. Not anymore!

Our new baby waiting for us to take it home!
I am excited to show it off. It is a 2012 GMC Denali one ton dually. We wanted diesel, and diesel we got. It has every option you can think of, I mean every! Black leather, power everything, sunroof, navigation system and the list goes on and on and on (I don't want to bore you all with the list).

The truck dealer taking our new truck to get a bath!
We went to the truck dealer to look at a couple of trucks that we looked at on their website. We knew exactly what we wanted in a truck and this was the only one that had every single thing we wanted. We did not need a dually, but again, it was the only truck with everything we wanted. So we ended up with the dually. We looked at a 2012 GMC Denali one ton gas, but it had a short box and did not have all the interior options. Again, we really wanted the diesel and all the options. Although the gas one was super pretty in black! If only they had our dually in stock in black we would have gotten black. But that is okay. The white won't show as much dirt and it looks prettier with my horse trailer!

We just had to back the truck up to the horse trailer (it's not hooked up) to see what it looks like "together"!
This will probably be way more truck then we will ever need. But I do have plans to someday upgrade my horse trailer to a 4 horse gooseneck. So now I have the truck to make the upgrade when that time comes. We obviously get hay in our truck and we also have a quad trailer that we take to get big loads of hay. The other really cool thing is that our truck is not our everyday driver. We each have our own vehicles for that. So this truck will always have low miles and should last us many, many, many years of safe hauling (and no more nervous jitters for me)!! What could be better than that?? And I am sure my ponies will thank me for it too!
Now I can go on those trail rides that aren't so close to home because I know I have a truck that can tow safely! Oh, the opportunities that await me!!

Congrats!! So exciting :)
What a gorgeous truck!! Congratulations on finally having the truck of your dreams! :)
Nice-enjoy!
Nice!!! You're riding in style for sure!!
Awesome, I want a bigger trailer, but then I need a bigger truck so for now I got what I have and it works, but it sure is nice having enough power to haul with.
Congrats! I opted for my 2005 dodge dually though. Can't beat 24mpg highway driving. Can't make me trade it for the new ones. One word of advice with the leather seats you might want seat covers or at least a blanket in the summer those bloody things can give you a dang 3rd degree burn, especially with shorts on as I found out the other day. Ouch.
How exciting! Diesels are the way to go when pulling loads.
Congrats on the new truck!! You will enjoy it!
Lets just hope gas/fuel prices go down!!
Congrats! Both of our vehicles are GMC. We have a truck and my van. I love the GMC truck we have and it's ability to tow so you don't even realize anything's back there, but I sure do hate the outrageous cost of diesel. ugh!
Well the first long distance ride you should plan is one in New Mexico...to ride with me! If the price of diesel goes down!
lol!
Seriously, it must seem like Christmas there at your house what with all the big ticket items that have been arriving at your house lately, along with your huge remodel projects, too.
Wow! If I didn't know any better, I'd guess that you two won the lottery!

How fun!
Lisa, I would love to come visit you and ride in beautiful New Mexico! Now if only I could find a travel buddy to drive that far! I think it would be awesome to go to other states and ride with blogger friends! Just to meet everyone and see new, beautiful places all with your own horse! Wouldn't that be awesome!
And I wish I won the lotto! It does seem like this year we are getting a lot of new toys! But a lot can happen when there are no bills to pay (anymore)!
Oh wow I just love your new ute. It wuold be my dream but here in NZ the fuel prices are through the roof. My tow car is diesel as well....what do your pay per litre??.
My goal is to upgrade to a bigger truck too. My vehicle isn't good for long haul trips either but fine for now.
So anyway am so excited for you and look forward to pictures from all you new rides!!
Awesome! It looks soooo nice! Hope you can haul out and do lots of rides now!
Congratulations!!! That is really exciting! I am jealous. I know nothing about horse trailers and trucks...yet! We have a truck but I don't think it can pull a trailer. You guys are totally set up for great trail rides! Enjoy!
I am Seriously.Jealous!
Very nice!
Sally~ I think diesel is 4.30 a gallon right now and gas is about the same at the moment, at least at the gas station right up the road. But that could have gone up since I last was there! It definitely is not cheap! But at least we won't have to fill up the truck every week since we don't drive it every day!!
Yeahhh!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my dually! And you will love yours too.
Now you can look into upgrading to the mondo trailer like I have. (giggle)
Quite jealous - my hubs would be green. To buy one of those over here is about $130 000. Seriously. *sigh*
:-)

Congratulations! The truck and trailer combo look awesome. You must be so excited!

Love it!!!!
