I have been so busy. I mean crazy BUSY! I have only been at home to sleep for the last 4 nights, that's it. I had hockey play off games on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday we loaded up the horses for a horse show. The show was just a local show, and it's about 45 minutes to an hour from home. Since it's not that far, we still drive home to sleep, but we are at the show pretty much almost every waking minute. We only had classes on Saturday and Sunday. But we took the horses to the show grounds on Friday to set up and get the horses worked. What ended up happening is after set up, we waited....and waited......and waited.....and waited......to get into the show arena to school the horses. On top of all the waiting, the weather was NOT in our favor. It rained and rained and rained NONSTOP! Not just a drizzly rain, but a total drenching down pour. And it was COLD. Extremely cold. Maybe 45 degrees as the high. It was miserable. I WAS MISERABLE.
On Saturday, it wasn't supposed to rain so much. Yeah, right. Didn't get so lucky. The weather Gods were not good to us AGAIN! It rained and rained and it was even colder. It was hailing and we had snow mixed with rain. BONE CHILLING COLD. It let up a little bit halfway through the day but it didn't matter. It was still cold. We had to wait for the afternoon classes to start since we didn't have any horses showing in the morning classes, but the morning classes took so long. So we sat around and froze. The afternoon classes finally started around 2:00 p.m. We had been at the show grounds since 6:45 a.m. I think we arrived a little too early. The afternoon classes ran late due to the morning classes running late, so the evening classes didn't start until after 8:00 p.m. We finally left the show grounds a little after 10:00 p.m. 15 hours of cold and misery. Back home for one more night of only 5 hours of sleep. Back up at 5:00 a.m. to get ready for the Sunday morning classes. There were a lot of class scratches so they moved through them pretty quickly and we packed and loaded the horses up, then headed home around noon. I came home, took a nap and woke up 6 HOURS later. Ya think I was a little tired?
We have another rain storm moving in, and it is going to be ANOTHER record breaking rain fall. We have been breaking records left and right with rain. The river flooded AGAIN, we have had more floods in this one year then we have in the last 8 years put together. And more rain on the way....... I mean really, it has to stop at some point, right?
With all the misery of the last week, I am excited to make an announcement that I will be taking a vacation! Gasp! Did I say vacation? ME? Go on a vacation? When does THAT ever happen? Little ole me, who works her butt off EVERY. SINGLE. DAY is going to get some R and R? Am I dreaming? I must be dreaming! Am I going to a place where the sun actually SHINES? Where the big, yellow ball in the sky is visible to my naked eye? Where the temperature actually gets ABOVE 85 degrees? Where I may finally get some much needed color to this white, white skin of mine? Where I get to lounge around by a pool, read a book with a drink in my hand? Where I get to be on the back of a horse again? Where I actually get to wear shorts, tank tops and flip flops? And where I actually must get on a PLANE and fly away to this location? Is it real? YES IT IS!
So I am saying farewell to the gray skies, the non stop rain, the mud, the cold and to the misery of the last 5 months! Goodbye rain, HELLO SUN~ I can't wait to meet you again! It has been WAY too long!
And when I get back, I will have stories to share and a giveaway to announce!

Oh girl, lol, you need a vacation!! I can't believe how miserable that show had to be. I don't know how you do it.
Are you coming this way, or going to a real beach? I can't wait to see where you went. Have a wonderful time and enjoy every second. You certainly deserve it :)
Wow I think you deserve a vacation!! Enjoy it while it lasts.
my parents (seatac area) recently had had ENOUGH of that weather. they'd been wanting to take a bike ride together but not in the rain. so they packed up the truck and drove over the mountains. as soon as they got to easton it was dazzlingly gorgeous and sunny where they got their bike ride: ) it sounds like you're going further than that, but i wanted to mention the sun isn't too terribly far from you!
i wish we could have some of your rain. i got my first sunburn this week. it only rained 3 times in march and our grass needs to grow!
Girl YOU definitely deserve a vacation!! Have an awesome time, can hardly wait for the stories and pics :)
That is great news!!! I'm so glad to hear you are going away on a nice warm vacation! You deserve it!
Have fun!
Gosh, I wish you could send some of that rain down to us. We're already having wildfires all around the state. Down south, it hasn't rained for something like 157 days.
How did you do at the show?
Vacation- sounds great and you deserve it! Where are you going?
Sounds exciting ! Enjoy!
Around here this time of year it seems like I wait and wait and wait for the weather to warm up. Enjoy your time in the sun!
Oh, a REAL vacation!! How awesome. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear all about it. Have fun!
Golly gosh your show sounded miserable indeed. More to the point how did you go?....hope it was worth it. I hope you vacation is totally BLISSFUL!....enjoy lots!. Look forward to hearing all about it
Your post makes me glad that it is 70 degrees here at the moment. We have been getting a lot of rain as well though.
Have fun on vacation; sounds exciting!
Here's to many happy rides and lots of drinks by the pool. You deserve a vacation, and have lots of fun...Love you auntie
Oooh! I bet you're going to visit Desert Rose. Lucky you!
But you deserve it for sure! I can't believe all that rain you've been getting. Crazy!
And here we've not had a drop of rain in over 7 months!
And we only had two fairly good snowfalls, so we are in a serious drought in New Mexico. And fire season has begun, especially bad with our Spring winds.
Sure could use just a little of your moisture.
Have a fabulous vacation!

That sounds awesome! The vacation, not the show lol. :) Have tons of fun and I can't wait to see pictures.
I have 3 words for you: FIND A REALTOR.
This weather is really making you unhappy. And based on our conversation yesterday, not really worth owning horses when 7 months out of the year you can't do anything with 'em.
A nice warm vaca will help for a bit, for sure. Hopefully when you return things will be warm and sunny. Actually I heard the day after you leave it is supposed to be sunny and the warmest its been in a while, go figure.
PONY GIRL
I wondered how the horse show went. I thought about coming up but the weather turned me off too.
Lots of flooding here too and it really has seemed to go on forever. Can't remember when we last had so much rain.
A vacation sounds like just what the doctore ordered. Hope you have a great time.
Oh where did my note go? I am very computer dusfunctional half the time! Maybe more! What i said was that i hope you have a great vacay. Nobody deserves it more that you! maybe you can have your OH serving you day and night!
I know, this weather just plain sucks! Have fun on your trip and soak up lots of vitamin D!
I hate being cold! I cannot imagine showing in the cold. Hope you enjoy yourself on your much deserved vacation!
That wet, bone chilling rain/cold is the WORST!!! Have a great time on your vacation. I am very curious to hear where you went....
Wait, freezing? In April? No way, I really AM spoiled!! It's been gorgeous here for the past few months...not bragging though! ;) So where'd you go? Hope it was NOWHERE near me or I'm going to be really bummed that I didn't try to get together with you!
Oh, and how'd the show go?
