I am looking forward to some nice, sunny days. Days where I can start riding again. Where I live we only have a few months to get some good trail riding in. I just want to be on the back of my horse on the trail, soaking up that warm sunshine. I want to be able to have a nice conversation with my sis or my OH while we ride through the woods, on that open trail or through the creek. I want to be back in a tank top again, put suntan lotion on, wear sunglasses, anything that tells me it is summer. I want to tie my horse at the hitching post, take a break, relax.

I want to load my 35 lb saddle and everything else into my horsetrailer, I want to wash my horsetrailer and put fresh shavings inside. I want to see 3 beautiful faces looking out at me from inside my horsetrailer.

I want to climb hills, go down hills, I would even like to go on the trial that Brandy finds claustrophobic.
I want to put the fly masks and fly sheets back on my horses.

I want to take my OH on another trail ride, where he can sit back, relax, look at the scenery and just enjoy this time on "his" horse.

I want to go through that creek, where it was overflowing and water was up to my knees.
All I want is to get together with my good horsey friends and go for a long ride than come back to my house for a good BBQ and some beer and just hang out.
All I want is for summer to get here and get here quickly. Summer, do you hear me?

AMEN! I want summer too! In a bad, BAD way!!!
I'm sure Mother Nature will be on that request ASAP!!! Isn't it amazing how impatient we get for good weather to arrive? I'm the same way...BBQ and beer...no better way to end a fun day in the saddle!
I hear ya, and I'm with ya!! I can NOT wait for some sunshine and heat!!
We are horseless at the moment, but I've just found a very great prospect a few hours from my home... waiting on video. Crossing fingers and hoping, hoping that this will be our new boy to love. I want to spend my days out in the sunshine, with a horse again!!! :o)
hey Paint Girl,
Do you mind sharing what type of trailer you have? Maybe you could do a post on it?
My dream is to get a 3 horse trailer, but to honest, I know nothing about them. I've looked at them, but salesmen all say theirs is the best. LOL!
I'd love to know what you have, how you like it, what works for you on it, things you might have wished you had on it but don't, etc. REally, I'd love to know. I could use a bit of advice. :O)
I want it too! I am SO sick of this weather!
I'm just grateful that *true* spring is finally here!
Summer's nice but I don't get along with heat too well so for me spring and fall are the best :)
(besides those darn bugs aren't out yet! lol)
I hear ya!
Mickey, yes I can do a post someday on my trailer, I'll tell you quickly what I have: it's a 2006 Circle J 3-horse slant. When I was looking I had a couple things that were mandatory for me, I HAD to have the swing out saddle rack, I have terrible knees and can't lift a saddle into a horsetrailer anymore. So the rack swings out and I just put my saddle on it! LOVE IT! I also had to have a sealed tack room which means it is sealed from the horse area, I did not want urine in my tack room!
My trailers tack room is set up for showing, so it has the bench to sit on with storage underneath and a medicine cabinet/mirror, water tank. There is room in the back for a rear tack area to be put in but I don't need that, I use the extra space for my muckbucket and more room for the
3rd horse to move around.
I really wanted to get an aluminum trailer but you pay so much more and than lose all your "bells & whistles" like that swing out saddle rack!
You paint the perfect picture of the best kind of summer day! I'm totally with ya! Summer can't get here soon enough! You will NEVER hear me complain about the heat. Bring it on!! ;)
I'm with you 100% and sure wish I was the one looking down on that long neck and mane!
Great minds do think alike. Today was just pathetic with pouring rain and hail. It makes it worse since we got teased with a few days of sun!
Have faith! spring has done sprung and summer is sure to follow. Hang in there. I'm crossing fingers for warm weather for you and the ponaes.
So...I have an alluminum with a swing out saddle rack, but yes they do cost more$$$$. I had a bad experience with a 4 horse salnt load with a tack area in back recently. Jesse is terrified to back out of a trailer. he will jump in and out in a flash...but not back out. Against my gut instinct we loaded him last in this 4 horse slant and he had no room to turn around to come out forward. After us 3 girls tried for a bit...I got stepprd on and crushed into the back tack room...Jesse steped on and took a big piece of his tail off, I called Spanky. Spanky took the saddles out, colasped the back tack room and Jesse had room to turn and come out calmly! I just hate it when I NEED a cowboy!!!
Uh, it might snow tonight, so I'm not so sure we'll be wearing tank tops anytime soon! ;) I was just talking to some friends about our summer trip tonight and already craving warm sun and temps!
I love the picture where Brandy is eating grass, is that the fence line from the "abscess pen?"
I'm sure we'll start hitting the trails by May! And I double-dog dare you to ride the claustrophobic one, LOL!
OH now I really want some warm weather!!! It does just seem that this back and forth weather just keeps dragging on!! Enough already we want good riding weather!!
All in good time, PG. We have to go thru Spring first!
You're almost there!! You have some great pictures in this post. Loved it!
Amen to that!! Although, John and I do ride all year long....I really enjoy riding in the snow. But I sure am ready to be able to ride without having to put on all the "lining clothes" needed to keep the chill off....and of course there is the BBQ and beer part....gotta have that after a good trail ride!!
I can relate to this post. I wish for a long spring myself. It get so dadgum hot and humid it almost makes it impossible to be outside for long periods of time. I just want to RIDE!!!!
Only if I can ride, too! lol!
No hurry for summer until my knee is healed...though I do love the warmer temps either way. We don't get any humidity so summer is absolutely gorgeous here, especially up here in the cooler mountains.
Here's to summer....and lots of trail rides for everyone!
~Lisa
Hope summer finds you soon!!! Now that is the description of a PERFECT day..."good horsey friends and go for a long ride than come back to my house for a good BBQ and some beer and just hang out"
Sigh.....I want all of that too!!! I swear it would be fun to meet up with you Pony/Paint Girl's for a trail ride one day....
