I am going to skip my silly sunday post today because there is something I have needed to do for a really, long time. A long time ago Leah over at Barn Door Tagz was having a giveaway. All you had to do was leave a comment to be entered to win. What you could possibly win was a new bridle and reins. Now I have never won anything in my life, never! So even though I commented I never expected to have my name drawn. Well, guess what? My name was drawn! I couldn't believe it! Me? Win something? Yeah right! But it was true. I won!
I decided this bridle was going to be for Fritzy. The color will match her saddle perfectly!
I have been waiting for some good weather to get Fritzy all clipped up so I could try on her new bridle, today was the day! I had great weather. I got Fritzy out, took her to the arena, cleaned her up and clipped her. I took her halter off and let her go.

I have such a hard time taking action shots of running horses. I try my best. Half the time they end up with no head or no tail. The video I tried to take was alot worse, believe me!
Bailey had to stand guard at the arena fence, making sure no one got out of control. Like that ever happens here!

Ok, so here is it is! Fritzy modeling her new bridle from Leah!

I think she started to dig her new job as a model.

My sis, who had her new camera out, kept Fritzy interested, she wasn't too sure what that big, black thing was that kept being pointed in her face. At least it made Fritzy put her big ears forward. Sorry Fritzy, you do have big ears!

What do you think? I think it looks mighty stylish on her! It'll be nice and flashy for the trails. Thank you Leah! I know you have been waiting a long time to see pictures!
About a month before I won this bridle I had ordered a new bridle set for Fritzy. It came complete with headstall, bit, curb strap, slobber straps and mecate reins. I only had one bridle for her and I like to have at least 2 per horse. I like to have one for training and one for trail riding. Fritzy will now have 2 trail bridles. You are such a spoiled horse Fritzy! This next picture is Fritzy modeling her other new bridle, her 2nd trail bridle.

Check out the slobber straps.

Here is a close up of the bridle.

After the modeling we hung out in the arena and watched the dogs play. They were having so much fun! Bailey looks pooped out! I guess when you are a crazy Australian Shepherd and a long day of playing, this is what happens!

Sadie decided she would take cover under the picnic table.

I was able to get a family photo of Fritzy, my sis and "her" dog Bailey!

I have not heard her coughing in the pasture but my sis says she thought she heard Fritzy coughing last week while she was up to see her boy. I will keep a close eye on Fritzy, she does not have any discharge coming from her nose and she is acting normally otherwise. We cancelled our trail ride. Now my sis and I will just ride in the arena with her boy and Brandy. Maybe we will go on a ride through the neighborhood as well.

Tomorrow we were supposed to go on a trail ride. Our plans changed when Fritzy started coughing while I was brushing her and while she was running around the arena. She had started wheezing so I quit longing her. During our modeling session she coughed up a loogy. Warning: gross alert!

What is with us and the gross post pictures lately? ;)
I am bummed about Fritzy and hope she will be okay and feeling better soon!
Fritzy looks great in the bridle you won from Leah, that rich cognac color really looks sharp on her! I might have to steal it for my boy...Fritzy won't mind loaning it to her boyfriend, will she?? :)
See you tomorrow. I have a surprise for you guys! xo
Fritzi sure looks good all spiffied up! Lucky girl to be dressed to pretty. Hope she isn't sick! Enjoy your day!
What a pretty girl, even your horse loves her some bling! The pictures of your doggies is so funny. They look well and truly pooped! They must have been playing pretty hard.
Have a peaceful Sunday and don't ride too hard if you go out on the trail.
Both sets look nice on her!
Lucky you! Both new bridles look nice. I got the slobber straps and mecate reins last summer after I saw a trainer presentation where they were recommended. But not having used such a thing before, I've struggled with getting the length of the reins right and haven't used them much.
Thanks for your kind words on my blog. I sure hope Fritzy is doing better.
How cool to win a bridle!!! Fritzy looks fabulous in both of them, and every girl needs at least two bridles, right??? LOL!!!
She has a really soft, kind looking mouth...at least in these pics anyway!!! Bummer about that loogey, and it foiling your trail ride. I hope she is alright. :)
Hopefully that cough and "little" loogie arent' anything serious.
Congrats on the bridle you won, it is gorgeous :) And I loooove the slobber straps on the second bridle.
Ooh! She looks so pretty in both! The color is so striking against her dark coloring! Love it. Hope she's feeling better! :)
Pretty bridle.
I enjoyed the gross picture. I'm all about shock and awe on blogs. ;)
I love the bridle you won from Leah!!! It looks so pretty on her!! But you know I think Fritzy is just gorgeous anyways!! That "loogey" concerns me a bit...Please keep us updated on how she is doing.
Both are very nice bridles. I would LOVE to win a new bridle. I need another for my mare. My daughter uses my good one, Tex Tan really nice bridle, but it fits her gelding better and it already has the best bit for him, plus she loves the roping reins that match. I like long reins. I have a nice one for my mare so it works out.
And I almost missed it! She looks gorgeous!
Both of those bridles are beautiful. I like the one you won even better, though. But the slobber straps and mecate reins on the second one are gorgeous!
Ewww...loogey....
I hope Fritzy feeling fresky again.
