Last weekend while I was waiting for Pony Girl to get here I decided to take a walk around the Painted Creek and take pictures. Actually I didn't even realize what I was doing until I was down at our pond trying to get a picture of a frog. Did I get a picture of that frog? No! By the time I zoomed my camera the dang frog hopped into the water! Just my luck. So as I was continuing on in my frog search and shooting random pictures at things, I decided to just walk our property and take pictures of different angles to give everyone a closer look at the Painted Creek!
Our pond is a 3 tiered system. We have a creek that runs all the way through our property, through the pond and continues to the neighbors property and into their pond and so on. The pond itself has 3 levels. It is very hard to explain.
This here is the little waterfall from the first level to the 2nd level. We also use this log to walk across the pond.

I always have this fear that some weird creature lives in this stump. I have seen a very large snake come out of it before and when I say large, it was large!
This is the 3rd level of our pond. It actually isn't that deep, we have been wanting to dig it out deeper. This is the level the dogs love to play in, well, one dog. Sadie, my water dog.
Oh, what do we have here? My neighbor thought he was being funny a couple years ago and dumped like 15 ducks into our pond. I think this is the only surviving duck! I believe all the others floated downstream. That's ok, we get real ducks everyday!

At the end of the 3rd level we have these logs here so we can cross. This is the far side of our property. The property line is to the left of those logs.

As I turn away from the pond this is fruit tree row. We have lost a few and haven't replaced them yet. We get peaches and plums every year. Our pear trees have not produced for us yet. We are not experts at this fruit tree thing! I know you have to have mates for some and we did that with no luck.

Oh, how did he get in my picture? At least someone is doing some work around here! I know it wasn't me!

This is what we call the field. This is where I used to ride before we put in an arena. It was the most level place to ride on our property. This is where my horses were trained and where Fritzy dumped me, another story all together! This is also where we set up the volleyball net for those summer parties, now that I don't use this area for an arena there is less of a chance of stepping in horse poo while playing volleyball!

This is party central. My OH put in these really nice horseshoe pits and he made the benches himself! We spend alot of time here playing horseshoes, drinking beer and hanging out with friends. Our neighbors come over alot to challenge us to a game of 'shoes!

Now I just crossed the wood log bridge over the pond to head out to the back.

I am now at the very back of our property. This area use to be all trees until 2 yrs ago when I got extremely motivated and just went out and started chopping down trees. I really wanted an arena! What you see is the unfinished product of what is now my arena and remnants of bulldozer work, looks like we will have a huge bonfire this summer! Yippee!

Hmmm.....what's this? No, I did not spot a frog! Just me being silly!
Now we are getting to the horsey area! This nice, big, grass field is where my future barn will be someday. A
real barn! See way down on the right? That is my house. That is also where we have to take the horses to tack them up. Than we have to walk all the way back up to the arena, which is behind me. It is a hassle and if I ever get that barn it will make things so much easier! I have even considered having my OH build me a tack room out by the arena because I might not get that barn for another 20 years!

I ran into some obstacles.
Someone's goats were out and demanding attention! What's that all about?

This spotted character was probably wondering what I was doing walking around taking pictures,
oh wait, he is used to that! Pony Girl has a camera in his face every waking minute!
Sorry spotted pill! I can't help you with that one!

My 2 girls were napping, as usual. I just love this stump! The goats really cleaned it out. It makes a good goat house, don't ya think?
I am heading back to the house. Here is my neighbors house. I just love how my neighbors aren't "right" next door!
Here is the bridge my OH built for me. It goes over the creek on the other side of our property. I use the bridge for training the horses.
I am heading back to my house!

Fritzy update: I took Fritzy to the arena today and longed her. She did not cough once and was not wheezing! Yeah! She had her vaccinations a couple weeks ago, I am wondering if she had a reaction to one of them. Here is my girl looking at something in the woods.

I think this picture is kinda funny, she was actually really interested in something on the other side of the fence and when I went through my pictures her eyes were closed! It looks like she was taking a nap.

Are we done yet? All you have done this week is take pictures of me! What is up with that?
Hope you enjoyed the tour of the Painted Creek Farm!

You have a really nice place. The party area is great -- looks like a lot of fun! I am glad to hear your horse did not cough and wheeze after the recent longeing. It could have been a reaction to vaccines. Your ponds are so nice...we would like to put a pond on our property, but haven't been able to manage it yet ($$$). It looks like a very happy home....I am sure your animals love it also.
What a beautiful home you have ! Thanks for the tour
It looks beautiful there, but Horse Dreams told me it was. She and her OH always like to visit you guys. Maybe one of these times I'll come with them. I so miss having property, we had 5 acres before we moved into town and I loved exploring them!
Paint Girl...you and your OH have made yourselves a beauitful farm!!!
Like the picture of Fritzy sleeping on the fence!
I love it! Your place is so beautiful, thanks for the tour :)
Oh - and I'd definitely go ahead and put a tack shed by the arena. I was actually thinking "why doesn't she..." as I was reading and then you said it.
What a beautiful place to live! I absoutely love that "goat stump" - so cool looking! And I bet they love to go in there! I love your stream/ponds - I really want a bridge over our creek...gotta get the Kuntry Boy on that! Thanks for the tour!
Paint Girl you have an awesome place there!! It looks so serene!!! Love all of the pictures, especially when Fritzy is "sleeping on the panel" LOL!! What a great tour!!! I will be doing one of those soon, but my property is fairly flat compared to yours LOL!!! I hope your OH gets that barn built for you :)
Your place is absolutely beautiful. If you ever have a blogger convention, I think I'll have to show up.
Love the tour! What a great idea, though my property is pretty boring. :) The goat stump is very cool looking! And I totally follow The Boyfriend around with the camera while he's doing actual work. hehe Love the party central area too! I totally want to do something like that!
You guys have a great place!
I hope one day I can own a property as beautiful as yours! We get about a month and a half of beautiful weather/green trees/grass, but then we shoot up into the upper 90s/100s and turn brown. They don't call California the "golden state" for nothing!
Your mare is gorgeous, too!
that was really cool! i love to see other farms...about your barn, i will keep my fingers crossed that you get your barn if you do the same for me regarding my arena...
your farm and animals are lovely!
I love the first sentence. It makes it sound like I was late. But I wasn't. Although I think I'll be late in the future if you'll continue to take cool pictures while waiting and post them! :)
I am SO happy to hear that Fritzy is feeling better. Maybe we can attempt another trail-ride on Sunday, or at least take out My Boy and his first girlfriend on the neighborhood trails!
Must be great to have a creek and pond at your place. I've always wanted that, but here in New Mexico, any bodies of water are rare indeed!
Ok, you took a spill off of Fritzy? Tell me more. I just gotta know! What is with these black and white paints dumping us, eh? lol!
You've got a gorgeous place there. I bet you and your OH are so happy living your lives together. The critters look pretty happy, that's for sure. And what a very cool stump! Reminds me of a fun play place. I bet kids would love to crawl in there, too.
Maybe you have elves or fairies living in your other stump...and a troll under the bridge! hehe
What a magical place you call home!

Your place is so very, very beautiful!!! I would LOVE LOVE taking pictures there. It is crazy looking at the contrast of our two places. All we have on the ground is dirt!!! Seriously, weird desert bushes and dirt.
Thanks so much for sharing that. I completely enjoyed the tour.
Just took "the tour" =) your place is so very beautiful! I wish we had that many trees. I love that you have a pond too, how pretty! We do have a creek, but with out many trees, it is kinda boring. I would be in heaven walking around your place taking pics ALL the time. You are very blessed! Your animals look very happy and I love your beautiful horses!
Yes, you should go ahead and put something for tack out in the arena. You'll say "Why didn't we do this sooner?"
