Contest Winner!

Can you believe this is my 100th post? I can't! Time sure has a way of flying right on by! If you all recall, I asked everyone awhile ago, to guess what breed of horse I was going to have next in my life. For all of you who answered correctly, you were entered into a hat for the chance to win this wonderful prize!

I put everyone into a hat and had my Painted Creek Assistant, no one other than my OH, pull out the winner.

Congratulations to:

Luanne, please email me your address at thepaintedcreek@gmail.com so I can get your prize sent out to you!

Now, to answer my question of which breed of horse I will get next. Of course you all know what a sucker I am for animals and helping any animal is just what I love to do. I love all horses, no matter the breed. We all have our favorites though! But for all of you who answered Mustang, yes, you are correct! My next horse is going to be a Mustang. Now you all might ask "What if you change your mind in the next few years?" Well, there isn't going to be a few years before I get a Mustang, because I adopted one! Yep! I am now a Mustang owner! My dream of owning a Mustang has come true! This is what I have wanted to do ever since I was a little girl. I can hardly believe it myself!

Let me introduce you to my new baby. Her name is Chance, and yes, she is the filly of Liberty, the Sale Authority mare I have mentioned in previous posts. She is now 5 months old. She will be with her momma for another month or so.

She was just moved to a temporary home, that is closer to where I live, so I can go play with her whenever I want.

I am very excited to have been given this chance to fulfill my dream of owning a Mustang.

Now isn't this a cute butt?

Having a baby requires some antics. "Who put this hay on my head?"

"Is anyone going to get this off of me? I mean really, I need some help here!"

"Anyone? Come on! I want this hay off my head right now!!"

"Well, I see how helpful all of you are! I will just have to get it off myself, by eating it!"

Back to nursing.

We went to spend some time with her the other day. She is so stinkin' cute! I can't wait to get her home!

Chance or Liberty wouldn't eat the carrots I brought, but Chance was more than happy to eat some grass!

I will be sharing my journey of adopting and gentling my Mustang filly. Many new adventure's to be had, adventure's that I am looking forward too. I am sure there will be ups and downs through out this journey. But that is okay, I am fulfilling that dream I had as a child......Would you have taken a chance?

AAAHHHH!!! My jaw dropped when you said that you adopted her! I kinda had in the back of my mind that maybe you would end up with this filly, but it was still a major surprise that you've already adopted her! Congrats! You are obviously an excellent horse owner and chance is one lucky little filly.

How exciting. There was a time when I wanted to adopt a mustang, but my property would need some changes in order to comply to the BLM rules. Now I think I'm just in it for the long haul with the horses I have, and I will probably pass away before they do. I wish my parents let me keep horses when I was a child, because I could have known more horses and more breeds throughout my lifetime.

Congrats to Lulo Designs on the win!

And what a relief I don't need to keep this a secret any longer!! It was so hard for me, I can hardly imagine how you did it, Paint Girl!

And just think...in the future we'll all be out there riding our brands. Except Pony Girl (who we simply must enable!)

How exciting! It takes me back to when I adopted a yearling Mustang filly from the BLM in the mid 90's. Savannah was awesome and once I had gained her trust she was so easy to work with, I started her myself!
