I don't know what it is about waking up to the sounds of a football game on t.v., maybe it just brings me back to the days of my youth, when I would wake up on a Sunday and I could hear my dad watching football. Whatever it is, I really like that sound.
I am so into it football, that I literally yell at the t.v. My OH and I get to spend some quality time together. We drink our coffee and Irish Cream, make a really good breakfast, than it's nothing but football. Oh yeah baby! Football is here!
BUT, it isn't just about football, oh no, don't get me wrong, I adore football, but seriously, there is one more sport out there that really gets me going. And that would be hockey!! I am a huge hockey fan. We don't have a professional hockey team where I live, but we do have a junior hockey league. The players are 16-20 yrs old, and they play in this league until they either go to college, stop playing or go pro. We've had a season ticket holder package for 5 years now, we go to 22 games a year which starts next week. Yep, I will be going to around 3-4 games a month from now, to the playoffs, which start in April. It is so much fun! We have numerous friends that go to the games, and we have met many new friends along the way. It is a great family atmosphere, just watching the kids get into the game, the players and excitement! Our community has really rallied around the team, and after 5 years of trying, we have a professional NHL team coming to play a game here. We are going to that game. One of our junior hockey team players that used to play for us, now plays for one of the NHL teams that is coming. We know who we will be rooting for. It all starts next week. I am so excited, I can hardly wait!
I always try to match my dogs bandana's to the color of the sports team we are following that day. I even bought my million dollar cat a sports t-shirt! Go ahead, call me crazy!

On to other news.......... I will be going to see Chance, 2 days in a row. I just can't get enough of her. And for all of you that were wondering when she is coming home, I don't know. She just turned 5 months old, we want her to stay with her mom until she is at least 6 months old. So she could be coming home in a month. We will see. I can't wait!! I am overflowing with excitement!! And believe me, you will all be the first to know when my baby gets to come home!

My precious angel, Domino, still hasn't returned home. I know he didn't see a happy ending, and I can barely think about him being Coyote food. But, he will be in my heart forever and ever. I still look out the door for him, listen for his cry when I am outside, think about him nonstop, and I am missing him so much. I am so much better, but it is still hard of course. I have been so busy with fishing, smoking Salmon, going to see my new Mustang filly, hanging out with my horses, playing with my dogs, cleaning the house, doing laundry, that it is helping to keep my mind off of my Domino. I still try to keep that slight glimmer of hope that he will make it home...........

Because I am really missing this tail!

I'm totally a football girl too!! We love football season, especially the high school games. That probably has something to do with J playing Varsity this year!!
I'm so sorry that Domino didn't come back to you....
Awww, I hope your kitty returns soon and has just been off on an adventure. I know how hard it is not knowing; several years ago we had a dog that came up missing, I never found him.
I am not a sports fan unless it's something horse related then I am interested. From time to time though I will watch Ohio State play football, but not often. :-) When mo OH is watching a football game I am usually reading a horse book! LOL
Your mustang baby is beautiful, can't wait till you get her home!
I'm not too big on sports but hockey would have to be my favorite.
Did you call all the shelters in your area?(you probably did) If he got hurt and someone found him he might be there.
I'll pass on the sports, thank you. I'll go to games but I'd rather be hiking in the woods.
I wish you enjoyment, though.
Man, her tail is fat, and red!!
Way to go sports fan! I like football ,but I prefer to see it live.I live in Oilers country ,and never got the hockey thing .I love to watch kids play hockey. Chance is going to be so much fun for you !And remamber whatever happens Domino knew true loving care while with you , and that matters!
I love hockey, too! I even played on a boys street hockey team when I was younger...loved the competition and the physicalness (is that a word?!) of the sport. My company used to have season tickets to the Panthers...really good seats and hold drawings for them if the execs weren't going. I was the lucky recipient several times! Looking forward to the stories once you bring Chance home! Have a great weekend!
Not a big sports fan myself, unless I happen to get to go to a live game.
Last year, we all got to go watch a hockey game in the Black Hills, they have a new team up there. I have to say it was quite rousing and we all enjoyed it very much. So if we ever get the chance to go to another live hockey game, I'm in!
Personally, I don't think weaning earlier is all that important if the mare is not bred back, but was curious if there was a reason you guys wanted to wait until Chance was 6 months old?
I'm sorry about Domino. We've had cats disappear over the years and it never gets any easier. A person finds themselves looking and listening for them for a long, long time.
I watch when my grandson plays and I still cringe when he goes down but I do cheer when he takes some one else down.
I remember my Dad watching football as a kid, and us sisters would play paperdolls and barbies on the floor. Your dad watches it too. I don't like it, so I would rather be riding, watching a movie, reading a book or be on the computor. I don't mind him watching it at all.
I was so hoping Domino would come home. He could still show up. XOXO
I hate to say it cousin but my thoughts on football...a great time to curl up with a blanket and take a nap! Sorry! Hockey, I've never watched. I think I would find it more interesting than FB though!
I know next to nothing about football, but Pie is a huge fan so I watch with him at times.
Hockey is another thing (Go Leafs!!! lol) Although we don't have an NHL team we have a team here (Saskatoon Blades) in the WHL that sounds a lot like your team.
At the restaurant we get teams from across Western Canada (and a few American teams that are in the league) in for supper or lunch.
I don't always watch the games because I'm often hanging with my horse on the weekends, but I agree with your it's a fun way to spend a cold fall day, and I have memories of watching FB w/dad, too. And I have seen you yell at the TV, LOL! It's hard not to get involved, but mostly for me, it's those really big games, like playoffs, where a win really counts. Those ones I really get into!
Sorry I'm sick and couldn't go see Chance today, the weather is kind of awful anyway! I'll get to see her a lot soon enough! :)
Aww, my heart goes out to you. Same thing with our black tail-less cat, Boogie. She came up missing less than a year ago. Broke my heart. In one way you want to know what happened to them, in another you really don't! She was the friendliest of our cats, and loved for me to carry her back to the house after I fed the horses. She was such a baby! Like you, I hope the coyotes didn't get her. :-(
There's still hope for Domino. Maybe it will help to think of him as being on a grand adventure.
I like sports if I am there in person, but I don't like watching any sport on TV.
Can't wait to see more about Chance!
I am totally not surprised that you love football and hockey so much, what with you being the #1 fishing chic in your area, beating out most of the menfolk who only THINK they know how to fish. lol!
I know how you feel about missing Domino. It's been over a month now since our Oreo went missing and I still sometimes think I can hear him hissing or meowing out in the paddocks, but then I realize it's my neighbor's hound howling, or even a coyote (gasp!). I, too know that my kitty met an untimely and unhappy end and I hate to think about it.
I'm so sorry, PG. (((HUGS)))
SO, when are you going to tell us the story of how you found and chose your sweet baby Chance?
~Lisa
Hi Paint Girl,
Although I cannot tolerate sports (especially FB) on TV I did enjoy watching my DH play in college.... growing up my brother always slapped the floor and yelled at the TV when his Pittsburg Steelers were behind! LOL! Praying Domino is still on his way home and he's being protected. Chance is so cute, can't wait till she comes home to you.
Are you SURE you're a sports fan? I'm not really getting enough enthusiasm from you! =)
So sorry about Domino...I know how hard it is not knowing. Glad your baby is there to distract you.
It is a neat time of year...I am not a real sports fan, but have found that hockey is much better in person than on TV.
I know exacly how you feel about Domino......it is heartbreaking.
