My pond is drying up faster than I can type this. Oh wait, it did rain on Sunday, so maybe it filled up a little. Two of the tiers are dried up, well, they are now in the goo stages. If the weather continues the way it has been, the last pond will be dry in a few weeks, or sooner. What will Sadie do than? I don't know if her pool will be enough, there won't be any mud for her to cover herself in!

This is all that is left of the water. You can see where the water line usually is.

Sadie was in rare form. She had something going on in that little head of hers. Maybe she knew her Birthday was coming, and with the new bandana and all, caused her to go all pyscho on us. She is trying to get Bailey to run and play with her. But he just wants to chew on his stick.

There he goes! Bailey decides he will play with her.

Here's the takedown! Bailey is way faster than Sadie, he can outrun, outsmart and outplay Sadie. But when it comes to evil Sadie, he is known to just run and hide. Sadie will run really fast then she will just drop and roll a few times. I think she does this on purpose. It is the funniest thing to see.

I think they are taking a break for a few seconds, then the fun continues.

Or not.

Or continues.

Or not. I think Sadie is done for now. For all I know, she is going to head back to the pond to get wet, than roll in the dirt, again.

I went to go check on my fruit trees. I am so excited! I have pears this year!! In the 8 years we have been here, our pear tree has never produced, and guess what? I have pears! Aren't they cute!

I get peaches every year.

My plum tree has also been a slow producer. A couple years ago I had plums, than last year, nothing. Or maybe the birds got them. But this year we have plums again. I love plums!

My turn to play a game of horseshoes again. My OH had 2 ringers in a row, I threw one ringer to cancel one of his. I love to get this on camera, to show him, when I need to remind him that I can throw ringers and he better watch out for me!

The air show has been going on all week, so we have non stop planes flying overhead. I love it when the 15 formation fliers fly above my house. They didn't fly overhead while I had my camera out, but that is ok, they live around here and fly above my house all the time. I will get a picture of them someday!

See, Bailey is still clean!

He is the sweetest dog!

This one, now I wouldn't say she is sweet, but she does have her sweet moments. We couldn't keep her out of the horseshoe pit. She really thought we put that sandbox in just for her! Sadie what are you licking?

We had a fun day, I love days that we can just relax, watch the dogs run around crazy, and of course there always is a good dinner involved.

great actions shots of the cute puppy's playing! What was for dinner???
DR~ We had my OH's secret BBQ Salmon recipe. It was delish!
Mmm food. Part 3, the feast!
You must feel like you are in the garden of Eden with two dogs and fruit trees! What have the goats been up to? I have not seen them much lately!
Looks like a super fun day, and the dogs were stylin'! Please send some rain our way.
Great photos...it is wonderful to have some down time.
Love your baby friut! I wish we had some fruit trees!
My dogs play like that too! I love to watch them. My border collie's name is Sadie :)
I have two shelties who play similar silly games, but without the dirt. Luna even steers herself AWAY from mud puddles. I don't know how I got so lucky--my last pair of shelties were mudpuppies for sure!
I like seeing your fruit. Our pears are growing, as are plums and apples, but the peach tree is going to be turned into firewood if it doesn't provide some entertainment...fast!
It is so sweet that your dogs play with each other -- and interesting to see their different styles. You are fortunate to have so many fruit trees -- we have grapevines that John planted a few years ago, and he keeps threatening to plant some apples. There was an airshow over Lake Michigan this past weekend, though it was a bit west of here so we did not hear anything. Strange how in different parts of the country there are parallels like that....
Love the pics of Bailey and Sadie. They are so funny. Your fruit looks awesome - I picked our first veggie tonight, a green pepper. Cut it up for a salad for hubby, for when he gets home from 2nd shift.
I lived just around the corner from a municipal airport in Akron (OH) that often hosted the annual air shows. All kinds of cool things flying over my house, I always loved it! Sometimes it sent chills up my spine because they would be so close it just overwhelmed me with emotion. I know - I'm weird, lol.
You go girl, keep showing OH who's the boss in horseshoes!
You're two dogs are just characters! They make the best buds don't they? I thought my lone apple tree survived the frost/freeze this spring, but I guess not...I don't see apple one on my poor tree. Enjoy your beautiful fruit!
That's hilarious, Sadie licking the dirt LOL!! It sounds like she does what DD's Sharpei does when she runs with the Aussie's. She will run and then like drop dead for a few seconds and take off again LOL!!
That really stinks that your ponds are drying up...Hopefully you all will get some much needed rain!!
I think it is so funny when two dogs start playing and then, the adrenaline kicks in and one (or both) start racing around like a crazy nut. You can just see it in their eyes that they feel sooooo good! Funny to watch! Love the photos as usual. Your puppies, your fruit trees, you pond. It is very lovely out there where you live!!
Love those pups, I think it is so fun to watch them play and what triggers it is always a mystery. Hey those pears are going to be great, lucky you!!! Enjoy and take care, Kelley
Your dogs look like they would wear me out! Thank goodness I don't have to bathe them. I don't like to wash my own and they are indoors most of the time. They're awful cute though.
Hooray for Pears! I have heard that it takes a long time for fruit trees to bear froot. And those dogs are crazy!! I love to watch my two play. They are so funny sometimes!!
Hmmm...what's for dinner. Make me a plate, too, please? :)
Your dogs are so funny and pretty at the same time. What a joy to just sit and watch them play together.
I am hoping for a dog of my own sometime this year. My hubby has his GSD and I've not really bonded with her. She is too large, active and wild for me to handle, though I have to sometimes. I am hoping for a lap dog.....not a tiny chi or rat dog sized lap dog...more like a spaniel or spitz med size dog. Sturdy enough to go hiking and play with the kids, but also quiet and sweet and cuddly. :) Wish me luck.
Yay for your fruit trees producing this year. We didn't get any fruit last year due to our late snows and freeze at the end of May and early June. This year our trees are heavy with peaches and apples. No apricots, though.
Maybe one day we'll get some, like your pear tree has done for you finally. Mmmm. I love pears, too! What are your plans for all of your fruit?
~Lisa
That fruit looks gorgeous! And your water--that's funny that is all you have left. We've never had anything close to it. I bet it is hard on all the plants around there to have it so dry. Our dry little desert bushes--no problem!
