Bad Dakota!

We weren't sure how Domino got injured. The vet said maybe a cat fight. Domino does get in alot of fights, he's had numerous small injuries, abcesses, etc. This is probably the worst injury he has had. Here is Domino's injury. He has puncture wounds on the outside and the inside of his leg.

While we were eating dinner tonight, we heard the sounds of a fight. A serious Dakota/Domino smack down was happening right behind us. Ok Kittys! This isn't the CWF! I turned around and fur was flying! It was Domino fur. I jumped up to chase Dakota away from Domino. This is what I encountered. There was more than this, I just couldn't get it all in one camera view.

Remember the meany, rolled up in a furry, black and white tuxedo? That would be my million dollar cat, Dakota. Yes, the one and only, smack down champion, for the CWF. Like I have said before, he will not back down from cat, dog or human. He is one tough cookie! Or so he thinks. He does rule the roost, you know!

So now I am left wondering, is Dakota the one that inflicted the puncture wounds on Domino? If I remember correctly, Domino was inside the night I believe he was "attacked" by something. Could this something be no other but the million dollar cat?

Does Domino's puncture wounds look like they could be from a cat fight? To me, they look like something bigger. But could it be possible that Dakota and Domino went at it, and Dakota injured Domino? They have never injured eachother before. Even though Dakota attacks all the cats, he has never hurt any of them. He doesn't attack them because he hates them, he just thinks he's the toughest cat in the house and most of it is just play, rough play at that!

Domino is doing much better. He is taking his meds, although he's not liking it one bit! I kept him inside until tonight, when he threw so many fits, that we had to let him out. He is the cat that you have to do what he wants or you don't sleep, don't eat, don't get anything done, unless you cater to his every need. Remember, he owns me.

I will be keeping a closer eye on this tuxedo from now on! He does look like trouble, doesn't he?

Interesting.....I can't imagine Dakota could inflict those big of wounds, but I suppose it's possible. Wouldn't you have heard them fighting in the middle of the night, since it would've had to happen indoors? Cat fights are pretty loud, I wake up to outdoor cat fights all the time. I do hope Domino is feelin' better soon! ;)

PG- No, I probably wouldn't have heard a cat fight in the middle of the night, once I am asleep, I don't usually wake up for anything! I am such a sound sleeper, most of the time!

I'm inclined to say that those wounds look bigger than what a cat could do... Whatever they are from is strange.. You say both sides huh?? Is it possible that he got his leg caught in something.. Strange, strange!!

Oh cats! We have two cats too and sometimes they pick on each other FOR NO REASON! Looking at Dakota mugging for the camera, it is hard to believe he could be such a terror!!!

ah meanie cats!
I don't have a problem with them fighting, I have a problem with them breeding eachother. The barn cats, I swear the cheap food at the co-op they put hormones in it to make the cats reproduce twice as fast so you have to come back to buy more food.

hmmm, sounds familiar only thank heavens the results are not that bad! daddy cat and cricket are always growling or chasing eachother. would it be possible to keep them separated until the leg healed? cats are difficult to understand at times. why can't they be happy to have a good home with lots of food and love? silly animals!

With Cats you never know who the culprit is.
Hope the leg gets well soon and no infections set in!

Ah, the mysteries of the feline life. Maybe you should install nanny cams, LOL! Then you could really see what's goin' on when your back is turned.

Have a great weekend and enjoy this sunshine we're getting, FINALLY!!!
